New Online Registration System
November 20, 2007. Effective today , Western New York Biathlon Club is using SkiReg.com to process membership and race registrations. This enables club members and race competitors to register online, and enables the Club to accept credit card payments. If you have not yet renewed your Club membership, why not give it a try? Just click the SkiReg.com link on the Membership page to go to the site. Users will pay a small service fee (between $1.00 and $1.25) each time they register for an event or a membership.
We hope our community will find this service to be convenient and helpful. We will continue to accept registrations and payments via mail (the "old-fashioned" way) as well.
Revised Biathlon Section in NYSSRA Manual
The Biathlon section of the NYSSRA-Nordic Competition Manual has been substantially revised and is available for your review here. The full Competition Manual is available at the NYSSRA - Nordic Web site.
New Nordic Training Trails at Bristol Mountain
Bristol Mountain opened its new Summit Nordic Center on December 4. The Center features 3 kilometers of trails, including a 1.2K trail with snowmaking capability and lights for night skiing, plus a new building with a warming area and food service.
WNY Biathlon Event at Salmon Hills
We have added a new event to this year's biathlon calendar. WNYBC is hosting a sprint biathlon at Salmon Hills on Sunday January 13, 2008. Members of WNYBC and Syracuse Biathlon Club visited Salmon Hills on October 21 and laid out the firing range and penalty loop. We are excited to add this venue to the list of New York sites able to host biathlons. This addition will provide flexibility for staging future races. See the Upcoming Events page for more information.
